Attack Training Drill #1.
Keys: Attacking player needs to make two stops with the ball. Everyone is getting reps attacking, racking, or passing. The attacking player at half-court bursts and stops at the 3 pt line with a punctuation dribble. This stop allows the player to get his body under control, get his vision up, and make a dribble move. He then burst again and hunts the World. Again he is stopping and punctuating his dribble and reading the help defender.
The player advancing is peeking, one dribble, and pitching the ball. We want to shorten the passes and hit the Bolt player right across half-court and send the other Bolt to attack the open rim. Bolts are running and reading at the same time.
A training piece in this drill is to get more 7's. We want to get easy 9's but if we cant get an easy 9, then we absolutely have an easy 7 in this drill. That should be a point of emphasis in the drill.
The ball can't hit the floor when it comes through the net. We want to peek and dribble pitch. We want to be hitting a Bolt player right across half court and sending the other Bolt to attack the rim.
